this workshop is a rock n’ roll one... where we ignore all the rules !
i decided to make an exception and give one workshop that doesn't really have anything to do with our history of (book)printing.
so… this workshop may not have a historical background, but every page that you will use to transform into something new, does .
this workshop present my central theme in the atelier ; to appreciate the value of scraps of paper and to do something with them!
bring your scraps of paper, and complement them with my scraps of paper. i will show you a way to carefully cut a block of paper, glue it, and finish it with a cover or not!
it is a basic technique with the goal that you can process leftover paper at home to use by yourself or to offer as a gift! for me personally they are poetic diaries with paper scraps from my past.
*** a brief (personal) history … so... i grew up in a printshop and i saw containers full of paperleftovers flying into the trash. i tried to save paper as a child, by fishing out the nicest pieces to play with. and i still tried to do that here in the atelier ! every scrap of paper (and ink) will be transformed into something new. i wound to share this philosophy with your, so you can also give a new life to your paper-besket ! …
